Functional safety development according to ISO 26262 addresses possible hazards caused by unintended events but how do you address those that may be intentional? These new invisible enemies may come from those that want to do harm or cause mischief so do new approaches need to be considered for them in the vehicle development process? This presentation compares and contrast the ISO 26262 standard to what is being developed for cyber security and includes case study examples of how these challenges are being addressed by FEV for safety and security.
